Ocean Alliance is a whale and ocean research and conservation organization founded in 1971 by Dr. Roger Payne, the scientist who recorded the original "Songs of the Humpback Whale" in 1967. Ocean Alliance's foundation in marine research has evolved into significant whale and ocean education programming in partnership with pbs.org/odyssey and schools and museums nationwide and beyond. Combining science and education, Ocean Alliance pursues global conservation initiatives through collaboration from aboard the research vessel Odyssey.
