We regard the coastal environment as a priceless resource cherished by peoples throughout the world. We recognize a universal obligation to preserve and protect this fragile environment while promoting and enhancing human access and sustainable uses. We believe that “sustainable uses” include recreational and commercial activities that do not threaten the survival of the environment or endanger the health and safety of residents and visitors.
