Cause Description:
Focus America, A NJ Non-Profit Corporation, works with poverty-stricken and destitute communities. Our goal is to help these communities move beyond poverty and acquire a level of self-sufficiency. We do this by addressing their basic needs such as providing food and clothing but also by working to provide educational programs so they can finally break the cycle of poverty that they have inherited. The individual community projects are completely managed by college students who create, implement, and evaluate all of their donation drives and fundraising programs under the mentorship and guidance of one of their instructors. We are not only helping these communities regain hope but we are also helping to mold these students, the future leaders of our country.
