Cause Description:
We provide support groups for people who suffer from any kind of chronic pain and we publish a quarterly news letter, the Chronic Pain Report which has articles written by people who have chronic pain, articles written by spouses and children who lives have been affected by the chronic pain person, and articles written by medical professionals who specalize in pain management. "Pain may be unavoidable, but suffering can be optional". We share ideas and experiences on how we have learned to cope with our pain and still have a "life". We are having a Conference 3/9/2003in Houston. "Living With Chronic Pain" will be the first conference in Houston for the person with chronic pain. Our keynote speakers are Dr. Patch Adams and entertainer Jerry Lewis who suffers from chronic pain. We will also have speakers who are medical professionals in the management of chronic pain and speakers sharing their journey with chronic pain. NCPS has NO paid employees and most of our work is done by people who suffer from chronic pain. We are a 501 (c) 3 organization.
