Cause Description:
Watermelon Mountain Ranch, a nonprofit corporation, is dedicated to the belief that all living creatures--human and animal--should be cared for and protected whenever possible. The recovery, care, and housing of companion animals (lost, strayed, unwanted, or abandoned) until they can be reunited with their owners or adopted out to new homes is a major focus of WMR. We also understand and appreciate the significance and positive impact that animals can have interacting with people. To foster this human-animal bond, WMR will provide facilities and support for efforts that encourage the positive interaction of children, youth, adults, and seniors (including persons with disabilities) with animals through outreach, educational, interactive and therapeutic programs utilizing paid and volunteer staffing with support from private and corporate donors.
