Cause Description:
Mission Statement: The purpose of the Child and Family Support Center is to protect children who are at risk of being abused and or neglected. Purpose of the Child and Family Support Center: 1) Provide a support system to families under stress. 2) Provide a clean, safe caring environment to families and children whose families are in crisis. 3) Promote family stability. 4) Help families deal effectively in crisis situations. 5) Teach skills to reduce stress and enhance family communication. Services Provided: ~Crisis Nursery: Children who are at risk of being abused or neglected can be brought in the Center 24 hours a day any day of the year. ~Shelter Care: Children who are removed from abusive and or neglectful environments stay at the Center until appropriate placement can be arranged. ~Prevention Programs: Classes offered to parents and children. Topics include: communication, self-esteem, stress management, sibling rivalry, cooperation, discipline, anger management and many more. ~Counseling Services: Professional counseling available to qualified clients at no cost. ~Crisis Hotline: 24-Hour information and referral service. ~Community Awareness: Child abuse prevention presentations by Child and Family Support Center personnel.
