Cause Description:
Central Florida YES an outreach in Central Florida modeled on a program in Miami called Project YES. Project YES is a non-profit educational organization, whose mission is to prevent suicide and ensure the healthy development of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender youth by initiating dialogue, providing education, and creating support systems. Our vision is a community where all youth develop as healthy individuals free of suicide, violence and discrimination. We will be working within the traditional networks of support for youth: families, communities of faith, schools and youth service providers. We will begin offering these networks an open forum, maybe for the first time, to discuss and explore the needs of these youth. We are driven to develop solutions in our community that include all youth and families.
