Remember the fun of Grad Night? Our traditional alcohol-free and drug-free graduation celebration is again being planned for Long Beach Polytechnic High Seniors. On Wednesday, June 11, 2003, the Graduation Ceremonies at Veteran's Stadium, Poly Seniors who have purchased a ticket will board chaperoned buses for Camelot Golfland in Anaheim, where they will party in a fun, but safe, environment. Last year Grad Night was almost canceled, but we have rallied support amongst all grade levels of Poly parents as well as in the community. We are asking for donations from Poly Alumni & friends and are hoping that they will remember their own Grad Night with fond memories and want to help the graduating students. This year, there are more than 1500 Seniors in the Class of 2002, many of whom will attend Grad Night. Because we are a large, inner-city school, we need to keep the price of their ticket to an affordable amount for our graduating students. To do this, we need to subsidize Grad night not only through fundraisers, but also through generous monetary donations. Please help us by contributing financially towards the cost of this event. No amount is too small! By doing so you are giving a teenager the opportunity to spend graduation night with their entire class for one last time in a safe, fun and fabulous place. And you are giving the gift of peace of mind to their families. In return, we will acknowledge your donation in our Grad Night Program, our PTA Newsletter, our alumni website area and on our contribution board displayed that evening. Your support and tax deductible gift will be greatly appreciated and will go a long way to making the evening a success. Poly Grad Night is a non-profit organization - Tax I.D. #95-4514072. Statistically, teenage deaths due to alcohol and drug abuse combined with automobile accidents are highest on graduation night. We think you will agree that helping to avoid even one tragedy would make this a valuable endeavor. Grad Night should be fun, not fatal. We depend on the generous support of parents, community businesses and alumni like yourself to assure the continuation of the hugely successful and highly respected program.
