Cause Description:
The mission of A World Fit For Kids! (AWFFK) is preparing young people for fit and fulfilling lives! AWFFK a successful and unique mentoring model that trains teens and college students to be the coaches and mentors for younger children through innovative after-school programming. AWFFK provides older kids with responsibility and self-esteem and younger youth with mentors and positive role models, saving two lives in the process. The primary goal of the program is to help youth of all ages learn about ‘fit’ behavior by providing them with important life skills and the opportunity to get involved in a variety of healthy activities that address their mental, emotional, physical and community fitness. Through the Fit For Kids! program, youth are experiencing success and learning that they have the power to create positive change in their own lives and in their community. Committed to AWFFK’s program goals is Kevin Sorbo, star of TV’s Hercules and Andromeda, who is the Chair and Spokesperson.
