Texas Maritime Museum

Rockport, Texas

Cause Description:
Within the Texas Maritime Museum, alongside Rockport Harbor, you’ll find exhibits and artifacts that reflect the rich maritime history of Texas. Permanent exhibits look at the early days of French and Spanish exploration and progress through a timeline to the modern search for offshore oil and gas. Exterior exhibits include a lifeboat from an offshore oil platform and a full-scale replica of a Scow Sloop. Inside are interactive exhibits and activities for families. There is also an extensive maritime library that includes books, photographs and videos. The Museum has many annual events including the Rockport Festival of Wines, the free Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series, and the Music of the Sea Festival. Watch the main gallery for changing exhibits.
