Cause Description:
BRAVO Independent Winterguard performs an instrinsically choreographed showpiece at regional and national competitions during the winter and early spring months. The dancers utilize various flags, rifles sabres, and batons in order to further accent the highs and lows of the often original musical compositions. All of the members are either in high schools or college that do not have an active winter colorguard program. The members pay dues of up to $800 in order to fund the organization's costuming, rehearsal facility rental (gymnasiums), travel expenses to competitions, instructional staff, equipment purchases and care, and general quality of life during their brutal full weekend rehearsals that begin in October. BRAVO has been competing since 1998 at Winter Guard International. The staff brings an average of 12 years experience and energy to the group.
