Cause Description:
Through its fundraising projects, WCPAAA provides the Wheeling Police Department with items they would not normally be able to purchase due to budget constraints. WCPAAA is a non-profit, charitable organization consisting of graduates of the Wheeling Citizens' Police Academy who volunteer their time and talent to make the Village of Wheeling a better place in which to live and bring up their children. Last year's fundraising efforts resulted in the purchase of an animated McGruff Crime Dog costume for the Crime Prevention Unit to help teach children how to respond to various emergency situations. We were also able to purchase a toy box for the PD's social worker's office, and we assisted with the Community Resource Center's Holiday party by providing toys and food, sharing holiday spirit with over 550 underprivileged children.
