Mission Statement: CHD’s mission is to promote the psychological and physical well being of unserved and underserved populations in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In particular, CHD serves as a catalyst for service innovation in neglected areas of health by facilitating the empowerment of individuals, families, and communities through the removal of constraints to the development of resources promoting optimal health. Organizational Profile: The Center for Health and Development, Inc. (CHD), is a Boston-based private non-profit organization that currently has contracts in the areas of psychosocial rehabilitation, forensic mental health, and public health. CHD was established under Chapter 180 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in September 1987. CHD is a tax-exempt organization designated as such under Section 501(c)(3) of the Tax Codes of the United States Internal Revenue Service. CHD provides an array of services directed toward community-based mental and public health support systems, including day rehabilitation facilities, residential programs, and vocationally-oriented locally supported clubhouses and related programs for youth, adults, and families in 68 cities and towns throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
