Cause Description:
UFSC, a project of Community Partners, is committed to enhancing the general well-being of economically disadvantaged Asian-American and Latino families in Southern California. UFSC sees health as the fundamental element for improving our community members' well-being. We have observed that health care and preventive service information are essential for low-income families to maintain their health. Only when they are healthy can they improve their living environment and achieve a better quality of life. Then, in turn, these disadvantaged families will possess the ability to become active and involved citizens. In response to the needs of the community, UFSC is launching a comprehensive program designed to aid Asian-American and Latino families in their efforts to fully integrate themselves into the larger American society. Our central focus at this time is on the health and general physical welfare of family members. However, we are also committed to providing the community with vocational training, immigration and naturalization assistance, and other human services in order to improve the living standards of the target populations. Ultimately, it is UFSC's objective to help the families in our service areas to become healthy, productive, responsible, and involved citizens.
