The Diabetes Institutes Foundation supports the medical research, indigent patient care and education programs of the Strelitz Diabetes Institutes at Eastern Virginia Medical School. The Strelitz Diabetes Institutes is a world renowned center of excellence for the treatment and research of diabetes. Thousands of patients come to the Institutes each year for cutting-edge care that directly translates medical breakthroughs to patient treatment. Research toward a cure to diabetes through islet cell regeneration and the prevention of complications such as neuropathy have garnered the SDI research team world-wide interest and accolades.
