Cause Description:
The Northwest Youth Leadership Conference was founded in 1991 to promote good citizenship and further partriotic education. The conference is sponsored by the Northwest Youth Leadership Conference Foundation, a public nonprofit foundation as described in paragraph 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code which is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The week long conference is held on the campus of Pacific Lutheran University and it is made up of high school sophomores and juniors. Participation in the conference has increased to the point that there were 87 students who attended the 1998 conference in June. The students attend seminars chaired by leaders from the business, industry, government and military organizations in Washington. The conference is approved by the National Association of Secondary School Principles.
