Cause Description:
The Special Olympics were created in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for individuals with Mental Retardation. We, however, feel that our true mission is to help bring these individuals (in the Tennessee Counties of Obion, Lake, Gibson, Carroll, Henry, Weakley and Bentley) out of their homes and classrooms and into the sunshine to compete with their peers. Thus giving them a never before felt sense of accomplishment.
