Cause Description:
This organization makes available information, referral, advocacy, education and meeting space to address social issues, including but not limited to the folowing: sexism, racism, anti-semitism, homophobia, hunger, AIDS, fat oppression, ableism, lookism, ageism, family violence, child abuse, incest and more. A monthly food bank makes available food for over 200 people who come from all walks of life and cultures. This feminist education/reseach center host many annual events such as: Gulf Coast Womyn's Festival, SpiritFest, LesBiGayTrans and Allies Sober Spring Break, Summer Internships and more. The 120 acre camp is also made available for use by other like-,minded groups. After a long struggle to create a safe space in Mississippi for progressive thinkers to share ideas, today we invite visitors/volunteers to come see what the more than 4,000 visitors/volunteers have created here in the DEEP south.
