Activites of the Center focus on improving the quality of life and independence of older adults. Research includes: patient oriented clinical research on genito-urinary disorders, mobility problems including motor function as well as driving abilities, Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias, vision loss, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, prostate, breast and other age related cancers,atherosclerosis; psychosocial research on cognitive, social and behavioral interventions and functioanl limitations as well as caregiving stressors associated with age related diseases; basic science research on molecular genetics and cellular biology of aging and age related diseases, and public policy and health services delivery research on the economics of aging, health care quality, long term care, and transportation.
