Identity, Inc seeks to improve self and community awareness, understanding, and acceptance of the expression of individual affectional identities in order to promote positive attitudes and healthful ways of living for all people within the State of Alaska.” Identity was founded as a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to developing programs and activities for the lesbian,gay, bisexual,transgendered and allies community. We stand for dignity and self-respect, and for the right of everyone to develop their whole self, of which sexual orientation is an important part. We sponsor the Gay and Lesbian Helpline, the Community Center, the NorthView newsmagazine and more.
