Morrys Camp is a not-for-profit, childrens organization that provides year round support programs and fully scholarshipped educationally based residential camp experiences for economically disadvantaged youth from the metro New York area. On a year round basis children are in constant contact with the Morrys Camp staff through camper gatherings and newsletters. In the summer children attend one of two 4-week camp sessions. Morrys Camp makes an initial four-year commitment to each child who participates, 4 weeks of camp and a 4-year involvement (4x4 Program). This commitment to the child is unique and is done so with the belief that consistency and presence in these childrens lives is very important. When a child has completed the 4x4 Program they may extend their participation in Morrys Camp through our Post Grad Program. This secondary program allows children to concentrate on life skills and follows them through their high school years. All components of both Programs are carefully designed to facilitate individual learning, development and reinforce positive social and academic skills, thus increasing each childs self-confidence and self-esteem. The Morrys Camp experience has had a tremendous impact on the children who participate in it and serves as an anchor in their lives, around which they can grow, learn and thrive.
