Cause Description:
We believe all children deserve to be literate and we work each day to turn that belief into a reality! Rolling Readers USA helps disadvantaged children learn and love to read and develop a lifelong interest in books and literature. In collaboration with schools and community-based sites, volunteer readers devote their time each week reading aloud to the same group of children throughout the program year. These sessions stimulate the childhood intellect and imagination and fosters an important bond of caring and friendship. In conjunction with reading aloud, volunteers strive to give each child in the program a quality children’s book twice per year. Often, these books are the first new books the children will receive. Rolling Readers USA's programs offer children a uniquely balanced and effective approach to early literacy development.
