Cause Description:
The Lesbian Breast Cancer Outreach Project, founded in September of 1997, holds a unique position, as Northeast Florida’s only breast cancer awareness program specifically targeting lesbians and all women under, but not limited to, 40 years of age for education, support and service. This project also makes a special effort to serve all women in need including those who lack opportunity because of their race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, handicap or social condition. The Lesbian Breast Cancer Outreach Project is also unique in that we have a complete Patient Advocacy program that is designed to serve the client in all portions of her experience. This program is combined with the supply of screening mammograms, and diagnostic services for clients upon request.
