Cause Description:
Founded in 1814, Spalding University is the oldest Catholic college west of the Alleghenies. It is a co-educational, private, independent, fully accredited, four- year, liberal arts institution; located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Average enrollment is 1,700 students with a student/teacher ratio of 16 to 1. The Spalding education experience includes opportunities to participate in a strong international studies program, and more than 140 students from over 25 different countries are enrolled at the school. Spalding offers 28 undergraduate programs and 14 graduate programs as well as nine intercollegiate athletic programs. In 1997 and 1999, Spalding University was honored by The Templeton Guide as a “College that Encourages Character Development”.
