Cause Description:
SEA is a not for profit corporation that provides therapeutic horse riding for individuals with physical and mental disabilities. It uses equine-oriented activities for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well-being of individuals with disabilities. One of the activities, Hippotherapy, is a medical treatment for people who have movement dysfunction. Benefits include improvement in posture, balance, sensory processing and functional mobility through the naturally soothing therapeutic motion of the horse's gaits. Another activity, HORSE POWER, is an equine-facilitated group psychotherapy program for children-at-risk. It integrates ground work, longing snd riding with horses, garden, art, and talk therapy. Goals are to increase self-esteem and raise the capacity for respectful relationships.
