Cause Description:
Triangle Land Conservancy's mission is to protect important open spacestream corridors, forests, wildlife habitat, farmland and natural areasin Chatham, Durham, Johnston, Lee, Orange and Wake counties to help keep our region a healthy and vibrant place to live and work. We fulfill our mission by identifying the most important natural and working lands in the region, then using a variety of conservation methods to ensure the permanent protection of the land. With the help of approximately 2,900 members and volunteers, TLC has protected more than 9,100 acres of the most important natural and working lands in the Triangle since 1983. Some of these protected properties are open to the public as nature preserves, including Flower Hill in Johnston County, Johnston Mill Nature Preserve in Orange County, McIver Landing in Chatham County, Swift Creek Bluffs in Wake County, and White Pines in Chatham County.
