ISKCON of New England is a Vaishnava (Vedic) temple established by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1974 offering twice-weekly services including mantra meditation, traditional Indian style altar worship and discourses on Bhagavad-gita. The temple provides a variety of services to its congregation and the community: * A Food For Life program that supports needy individuals and families * A Health and Spirituality Support Group for persons with or caring for others who have chronic illness * Weekly programs to encourage youth in creative expression * In-depth classes three times a week on Bhagavad-gita * An on-going Catholic-Vaishnava interfaith dialog * A Prison Ministries penpal program * A cooperative program to support rainforest preservation with a 10.5 acre organic farm in Puerto Rico * Numerous festivals throughout the year celebrating major Vaishnava holidays
