Library of Virginia Foundation
The Library of Va., established in 1823, is to Va. what the Library of Congress and the National Archives combined are to the U.S. It serves as a general reference and major research facility to a constantly increasing constituency--with thousands visiting via the Internet from all over the world. The Library's holdings include state gov't. publications, court records, newspapers, maps, fiction and non-fiction volumes (by Virginians or about Virginia), and collections of personal letters, family Bibles, photographs, artwork, and other Virginiana. The private, non-profit Library of Va. FOUNDATION supports the collections, programs, and work of the Library--including the maintenance of on-line access to books, serials, documents, microforms, media and electronic resources.
The FOUNDATION also supports the preservation and conservation of items in the Library's collections.
