Wichita Independent Neighborhoods" -W.I.N. - was incorporated in 1994 by 9 existing neighborhood groups: Fairmount, Historic Midtown, Historic Preservation Alliance, Jones Park, Northeast Heights, Planeview, Riverside, South Broadway Improvement Alliance, South Central Progressive, South City Property Owners, and Westway Addition. Together these neighborhood groups, spurred by the momentum of the Neighborhood Initiative, offered a concrete example of how neighborhood residents can dramatically improve their quality of life.
