Saint Vincent's Day Home (SVDH) has epitomized excellence in early childhood education and family services since its founding in 1911. For nearly 87 years, SVDH has assured that children in need have access to quality child care while their parents are assisted in meeting their familial obligations. Situated in the heart of West Oakland, SVDH shares the lived experience of this community, supporting it through two World Wars, the Depression and countless other natural disasters and personal challenges. SVDH currently serves 190 children aged 2-14 years of age, in full time and after school programs.
