Cause Description:
Compassion In Action Foundation (CIAF)is a nonprofit formed in 1997 by a group of professionals in Chicago, IL. CIAF assists private, grassroots individuals and organizations who reach out and provide humanitarian aid to others. Presently, we are fundraising for an orphanage in Awassa, Ethiopia. This orphanage is headed by Ms. Airi Tuomi who provides for the general welfare and education of a group of children and disabled adults. Some of her members have finished schooling, found jobs, and live independently in the community thanks to her support. Her funding was cut off many years ago and she currently pays for expenses out of her own pocket. CIAF has been able to supplement her finances on a monthly basis. CIAF is a new small nonprofit and hopefully in the future, CIAF will be able to extend funding to other people and groups who have approached the organization and are in need of financial support.
