Heterotaxy Connection seeks to empower individuals and families affected by Heterotaxy through a global community of connections, resources, and support, partnering with medical professionals and researchers to advance care and help every person with Heterotaxy thrive. Heterotaxy means the body’s blueprint is mixed up from the start. Organs can be missing, multiplied, misplaced, or malformed, which can be catastrophic. It occurs in 1:10,000 people.  It happens early in the pregnancy, often before the mother even knows she is pregnant. Around 4 out of 10 people with heterotaxy will not live to blow out the candles on their 20th birthday.
