DHES provides a permanent sanctuary for primarily Thoroughbred Off The Track horses that were otherwise destined for slaughter in Mexico. A few of the younger horses that are healthy after rehab are provided retraining in other disciplines and afforded the opportunity to flourish under the care of a partnered owner.
