There are thousands of people, they could be your neighbors, your friends or even your own family, who simply do not have access to or cannot afford something as simple as a bunch of grapes, carrots or any array of fresh produce. ROOT CAUSE was formed for the purpose of creating equal opportunity for everyone, regardless of economic status or demographics, to purchase fresh produce. We believe eating healthy, fresh produce isn't a privilege, it's a right. Our mission is simple, we are dedicated to bringing fresh, affordable, rescued produce to people who are food insecure and reside in food deserts, as well as reduce food waste at a scale that creates positive and lasting impact. Our goal: To provide rescued produce from local businesses, farms, and co-ops to individuals living in food deserts or who are food insecure at little or no cost. Our strategy: To create partnerships with other entities that either already serve the communities listed or are in need of our service.
