Established in 1974, the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC)is dedicated solely to achieving socially just public policy that assures people with the lowest incomes in the United States have affordable and decent homes. NLIHC educates, organizes and advocates to accomplish the following goals: (1) to preserve existing federally assisted homes and housing resources; (2) to expand the supply of low income housing; and (3) to establish housing stability as the primary purpose of federal low income housing policy. NLIHC provides up-to-date information, formulates policy, and educates the public on housing needs and the strategies for solutions.
