Cause Description:
The George L. Davis Potbellied Pig Sanctuary Inc is located in S.W. Florida and is the largest Sanctuary of it's kind in the world. Home to over 425 abandoned, abused, and unwanted pigs, we rely soley on donations. We have rescued pigs mainly in Florida. We are the largest certified brucellosis/pseudorabies free herd in Florida, and get tested each year. We are also a non profit 501(c)3, no kill organization. We are not taking in any rescues at present as we have reached our capacity. Having rescued animals in distress, as you probably know, is an expensive, time consuming job as most of them have medical problems that have to be taken care of. We have had numerous animals come in that have been attacked by dogs or people, malnourished, with fractured legs, deep wounds, pregnant, and on and on.
