HOW provides permanent solutions to the problems of homelessness and poverty for women and children. The oldest transitional-housing program for homeless women in Chicago, HOW helps women break the cycle of poverty and achieve long-term economic and residential stability. HOW provides low-cost, long-term housing coupled with comprehensive case management and a broad range of supportive services for homeless and formerly homeless women and their children. In HOW's supportive environment, the social and emotional isolation of poverty, neglect, and abuse can be addressed.
