Cause Description:
Lane ShelterCare is a private, nonprofit human services agency serving three populations who are homeless or at risk of being homeless: families with chidren who are homeless; individuals with a severe, persistent mental illness; and survivors of traumatic brain injury. Ten individual programs offer a variety of housing support services including emergency shelter, transitional services, and long-term supported housing. Other services include case management services to support skill building and household stabilty, referral and advocacy supports to link residents with community support systems, and financial assistance to provide limited housing subsidy and help with other expenses. Program goals are success at self-sufficiency and stabiltiy in independent housing. Community contributions sponsor a significant portion of the agency's service in the form of in-kind donations, volunteer time and generous financial support.
