Cause Description:
Austin Childcare Providers Network (ACPN) is a network of 50 home-based family childcare providers and 11 center-based childcare facilities located on the west side of the city. ACPN members serve 1,500 children from 9:00 am to 4 :00 pm five days a week. Since 1998, we have educated over 16,500 children in the Austin community. These children and their families greatly benefit from our help in overcoming extreme poverty, domestic and neighborhood violence, childhood trauma, and homelessness. We believe by better equipping the childcare providers, we give the children a better opportunity to overcome in their own lives and community as well as providing the parents with tools in which to deal with the struggles in their communities. ACPN childcare provider facilities are in Austin, Maywood, Bellwood, Lawndale, Humboldt Park, Garfield Park, Villa Park, Franklin Park and Round Lake.
