Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD)advocates for: * The human rights of Deaf people and the abolishment of discrimination against Deaf communities and sign languages. * Deaf education for all Deaf people worldwide. * Strengthening associations of Deaf people, and assisting in the establishment of associations where none currently exist. WFD conducts leadership training, organisational development and sign language interpreter training workshops throughout the world. WFD is in official liaison with the United Nations through UNESCO, WHO, ILO and the High Commission on Human Rights.
