Cause Description:
WPAA,Inc.,founded in 1990,is an all volunteer, artist-
run space in Milwaukee,WI.,-Gallery 218. Located in
the Historic Third Ward now, just South of downtown.
The facility is host to art exhibitions and other
events,such as film screenings.Shows change
monthly.Gallery 218 is managed by our President and
the general membership:artists who wish to pursue
and present their work in a cooperative environment.
WPAA, Gallery 218 and gallery218.com are funded by
membership dues, individual donations,and 25% of
art sales. On going Exhibition opportunities are
available to member-artists. Invited artists for
"gallery Nights" four times a year. New members are
welcome. Membership requirements include:
Annual dues, monthly fees, gallery sitting, resume,
10 slides or photos, a one year commitment.
Artists learn gallery operations and presenation skills
while networking with their peers. Our community is
exposed to the talented artists in this
area.WPPA/Gallery218 participates in Third Ward
Merchant events throughout the year and collects
food for the Hunger Task Force, and donates art to
various auctions.
