Cause Description:
Healthcare is a Human Right is an organization committed to bringing holistic wellness care to all, regardless of socio-economic status. HEALTHCARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT (HCHR) is a grassroots organization committed to bringing holistic health care to all, regardless of socio-economic status or ability to pay. Our first clinic opened its doors in the spring of 2003 in Kingston, NY with 8 practitioners assisting over 25 people. HCHR now operates free community clinics in Woodstock, Phoenicia, and Kingston, and a monthly outreach clinic at the homeless shelter in Kingston, NY. We are affiliated with Family of Woodstock, a United Way agency, serving the tri-county area of the Mid-Hudson Valley. All treatments and services are provided by a volunteer faculty of exemplary and dedicated professionals who are licensed and certified in a variety of healing modalities. Donations from our community and clients, as well monetary grants, help defray expenses. In-house exchanges further support our clinics. OUR GOALS: - provide consistent and ongoing care to our local communities. - expand awareness, knowledge, and first hand experience of holistic healing modalities. - educate the public about wellness and sickness prevention. - build community centered healthcare dedicated to individual and collective wellness. - create a model for other communities across the country, making holistic wellness more accessible. - develop teams of healers to provide quality, affordable holistic wellness-care to everyone in the community. - support a community of compassionate and inspired healers A TYPICAL CLINIC Healthcare Is a Human Right is a suitcase (mobile) clinic that provides its services through the generosity of several Ulster County localities.
