Cause Description:
The mission of Holy Cross Education Foundation is to provide funding and administrative assistance to primary schools that strive to provide the highest quality primary education to children in disadvantaged areas in developing countries.The Foundation will assist in preparing students for the challenges of life in the 21st century: spiritually, mentally, morally, emotionally and physically by providing a state-of-the-art educational environment. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that was organized by volunteers across North America with the goal of ensuring schools like Holy Cross Anglican School in Ambergris Caye, Belize continue to make positive change in the world. Started in 2006, Holy Cross Anglican School, in San Pedro, Belize, educates over 500 students grades K-8. These students come from one of the poorest areas of the country. In addition to receiving a quality education, the school also provides breakfast, a fruit snack and lunch to every student each day. Volunteer teams provide free dental care in the school's on-site dental clinic. The school also has an impressive computer lab with over 30 computers with high-speed internet to teach students the skills necessary for today's workplace.
