Rutgers Formula Racing was founded in 1989 by a group of engineering students who wanted to apply their classroom knowledge to a practical application, in this case engineering a formula-style racecar. Since then, the club has grown and continues to be a strong contender at the annual Formula SAE event, competing against some 120+ colleges and universities from around the world.
