The Chicago Classical Recording Foundation helps preserve Chicagos rich musical heritage by documenting the work of its finest musicians, ensembles, and composers, especially those that have been overlooked by other recording companies. The Foundation is also committed to increasing awareness and knowledge of neglected areas of the classical repertory through the production and dissemination of audiophile-quality recordings on the Cedille Records label. The recordings and their promotion are designed to stimulate interest in these performers and composers and bring their artistry to a wider audience. As part of its mission to educate the community about classical music making in Chicago and overlooked musical masterpieces, the Foundation works with music schools, libraries, and educational institutions supplying them with free copies (or web streams) of our recordings for use in their programs.
