The Prairie Ecology Bus Center mission is to be a vehicle for understanding and appreciating the natural wonders in our own backyards. The PEBC provides outdoor, educational, science-based learning experiences via the Ecology Bus, a custom-built mobile laboratory and classroom designed to take learners out into the field to study the natural resources in their own neighborhoods. The PEBC programs are designed to come to the participant, thereby learning about what is special "at home" rather than travel to a distant environmental center to learn about the natural resources in someone else's backyard.
