The Capital Area Humane Society is dedicated to the elimination of cruelty, abuse, neglect and abandonment of animals. The Society will achieve this goal through programs and services for people and pets in the community based on humane principles and respect for non-human animals. A particular emphasis of the Society toward this end is the elimination of pet overpopulation. As a non-profit organization, the Humane Society relies on support from members and donors to make our programs and services available to the community. This support makes a difference in the lives of the many homeless, abused, neglected and abandoned animals in our care.
