1) Find homes for unwanted, needy animals before they reach an animal shelter where they could be destroyed due to the shelter's overcrowding; 2) Rescue handicapped animals who would not be adopted without CDHA's special assistance; 3) Aid person's with special needs, people who require temporary emergency assistance due to a catastrophic occurrence; 4) Provide emergency help for injured, stray or otherwise needy animals; 5) Monitor, feed, spay and neuter feral cat colonies; 6) Rescue and monitor animal abuse cases; and 7) Educate the public on such issues as animal population control, proper animal care, animal health and other areas of vital importance to the health and well being of animals.
