PAL brings people and animals together through unique programs for youth and for the isolated and ill. The longest-running animal-assisted therapy organization in the DC area, PAL Pet Visiting Program trains more than 200 volunteers to take their pets to nursing homes, hospices, hospitals, and psychiatric facilities. PAL's Youth-at-Risk programs, PAL After-school Club and PAL Summer Camp, offer children direct contact with animals and an animal/science curriculum to explore.
