Consumers for Affordable Health Care is committed to helping all Maine people obtain affordable, quality health care. We operate the state's only toll-free consumer assistance HelpLine for callers with questions about private or public insurance programs. We provide trainings to consumers and social service agencies on advocacy, MaineCare enrollment, covered services and appeals, Dirigo Health, and grassroots organizing. We operate the Consumer Health Law Program which answers questions about private health insurance coverage, assists people in resolving disputes with their private health insurance companies, and provides free legal representation to people with incomes below 300% of the federal poverty guidelines.
